Hélène Charbaut

Hélène Charbaut is the fourth generation of the Charbaut family, producers of Guy Charbaut Champagne, in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, in the Vallée de la Marne.Oenologist of the Domaine familial since 2020, she entered the world of Champagne, gaining experience in the same role at the Champagne Leclerc Briant and at the Maison Bouchard Père & Fils in Burgundy.

Hélène immediately decided to give a new identity to the Domaine, focusing the new approach on parcel vinifications carried out exclusively in wooden barrels and reducing the use of any external factor to a minimum, from vineyard management to winemaking operations in the cellar. This choice reflects the clear commitment towards the maximum valorisation of the terroir and the individual parcels, aiming to highlight their distinctive characteristics in an extremely accurate way.

With property parcels located in the Premier Cru villages of Bisseuil, Avenay Val D'Or, Mareuil-Sur-Ay and some parcels at Viviers-Sur-Artaut in the Aube, Hélène focuses on 3 lieu-dits in Bisseuil from which she makes her very first limited edition "monocepage" cuvées: La Crayère (100% Chardonnay), blend of two parcels, La Pirouette (100% Pinot Noir) and La Meunière (100% Meunier).
