Benoît Déhu

Benoît Déhu is an independent grower based in Fossoy, in the Vallée de la Marne, a Champagne area historically suited to Meunier. After an initial career as a sound engineer, he returned to the family estate in the early 2000s, initiating a profound conversion to organic and biodynamic viticulture, now certified. His work is rooted in a rigorous and artisanal approach, with great attention to vine balance and soil vitality.

Production is centered on a parcel-based philosophy, with a particular focus on the La Rue des Noyers vineyard, planted with Meunier on clay-limestone soils. In the cellar he favors spontaneous fermentations, careful use of oak, and long aging on the lees, with very low or no dosage. His Champagnes stand out for a tense, deep and textural style, where Meunier expresses complexity, structure and aging potential, in extremely limited and highly distinctive productions.
