David Léclapart

In 1996, following his father's passing, David Léclapart inherited the family vineyards at the age of thirty in Trépail, a Premier Cru of the Montagne de Reims where, unlike the neighbouring villages devoted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay reigns supreme. From the very beginning he made a clear choice to rely solely on organic and biodynamic viticulture, a path he now shares with his son Martin, increasingly present in the vineyard and at harvest, who brings to the family Domaine the outlook of a new generation ready to safeguard its vision.

The family's roughly three hectares, divided into some twenty parcels, are farmed without any synthetic products, with grass left free to grow between the rows and biodynamic preparations certified as early as the beginning of the 2000s. In the cellar David works with indigenous yeasts, enamelled tanks and used Burgundy barrels, forgoing dosage and keeping sulphites to a minimum so that each Champagne speaks of a single vintage and a single place, giving rise to pure, taut and profound wines that invite you to discover the most authentic voice of Trépail.
