The Champagne Bord de Marne by Tristan Hyest takes its name from the riverbanks that shape the landscape of the Vallée de la Marne, where the family vineyards slope gently toward the water around the village of Trélou-sur-Marne. It is the cuvée that best tells the vigneron’s style, an artisanal and sincere interpretation of the land, born from soils of gypsum and limestone marl farmed with respect for the natural balance of the vineyard. The result is a Champagne both approachable and deep, a faithful mirror of a corner of Champagne where Meunier finds one of its most authentic expressions.

This edition shows a prevalence of Meunier grapes at 60%, alongside equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. A 40% share of vin de réserve completes the blend, drawn from a solera holding the 10 previous vintages, which brings breadth, depth and stylistic continuity to the cuvée. Vinification and fermentation take place exclusively with indigenous yeasts, preserving the most authentic identity of fruit and soil. After the tirage comes at least 36 months of ageing on the lees, refining the texture and enriching the aromatic profile. The final dosage of 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, keeps the wine taut, pure and true to its origin.

On tasting, Bord de Marne shows a straw yellow colour with golden reflections and a fine, elegant perlage. The nose opens on yellow and white-fleshed fruit, citrus and delicate floral hints, then moves toward pastry, dried fruit and a clear mineral nuance. On the palate it is lifted and delicate, carried by a vibrant freshness and a tension that supports its structure with elegance and balance. The finish is clean and persistent, with a consistent return of citrus and mineral sensations.
