Le Clos 2013
The Champagne Le Clos by Tristan Hyest is conceived as a cuvée with a strong territorial identity in the Vallée de la Marne, in Trélou-sur-Marne, within a historic family-owned clos. Tristan Hyest’s project is rooted in an artisanal vision of Champagne as a wine of origin, focused on a faithful reading of parcel, vintage, and soil, without corrective interventions or stylistic manipulation. Production is deliberately limited, designed to convey an authentic and measured expression of the place.
This Millésime 2013 is based on a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from the lieu-dit Le Clos, characterised by clay-limestone soils. Vinification follows a traditional, grape-respectful approach, with fermentation in stainless steel followed by extended ageing on the lees, aimed at building depth and expressive continuity. The final dosage of just 2.3 g/l, Extra Brut, guides the wine toward a natural balance without weighing down its structure.
In tasting, Le Clos 2013 stands out for notes of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit, and subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, the wine is taut and precise, supported by a well-integrated saline texture and a balanced structure. The finish is progressive and linear, with a dry, coherent close that clearly reflects the identity of the lieu-dit and the vintage.
