Rosé de Saignée "Les pépites du tablier"

The Champagne Les Pépites du Tablier by Jean-Marie Massonnot is a Rosé de Saignée that expresses with authenticity and refinement the Premier Cru terroir of Coulommes-la-Montagne, in the Montagne de Reims. This cuvée brings together equal parts Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes, two black varieties that meet here in an intense and generous dialogue, conveying all the vibrancy of the fruit and the deep character of the land.

This edition, based on the 2018 harvest, is made using the Saignée method, which involves a brief maceration of the grapes on their skins to extract colour, aromas and a delicate tannic texture. Vinification also includes malolactic fermentation, which gives the wine roundness and complexity. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for 60 months, gaining depth and finesse before dégorgement. The final dosage of 5 g/l, in Brut style, supports the richness of the fruit in balance while keeping its freshness intact.

On tasting, Les Pépites du Tablier opens with intense aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherry, raspberry and blackberry, accompanied by subtle herbaceous notes that add freshness and definition to the bouquet. On the palate the lively acidity brings energy and vitality, while light, well-integrated tannins add structure and depth, in a perfect balance between freshness and roundness. The finish is long and harmonious, with fruity, elegant persistence that confirms the distinctive character of this Rosé de Saignée.
