The Champagne Aimé le Géant by Jean-Marie Massonnot is an affectionate tribute to grandfather Aimé, the family’s first vigneron and founder of a story built on dedication to the land and respect for tradition. This Blanc de Blancs is crafted from Chardonnay grapes from vineyards classified Premier Cru and, through a cuvée of great elegance and complexity, tells of the deep bond that ties the generations of the family to their land.

This edition, based on the 2018 harvest, is completed by 30% vin de réserve, which brings stylistic continuity and greater breadth. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks and, for 30%, in fût de chêne, a balance that combines the purity of the fruit with the complexity imparted by oak. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for at least 80 months, gaining depth, finesse and remarkable refinement before dégorgement. The final dosage of 6 g/l, in Brut style, measuredly supports the richness of the cuvée while keeping its freshness intact.

On tasting, Aimé le Géant opens with delicate floral and fruity aromas, accompanied by elegant hints of brioche that reflect its long ageing on the lees. On the palate it is juicy and lively, with a fresh acidity that precisely balances a full, enveloping structure and carries a harmonious, creamy progression. The finish is long and refined, with elegant persistence that reveals delicate citrus and lightly toasted echoes.
