The Champagne Les Deux Vallées by Laculle Frères carries in its name the landscape from which it springs, the Côte des Bar crossed by the Vallée de la Seine and the Vallée de l’Arce, two valleys that come together in a single, harmonious expression of terroir. At the helm of the family Domaine, brothers Victor and Edouard Laculle pursue viticulture focused on sustainability, highlighting the Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils that give the wines complexity, tension and finesse. The result is a cuvée that celebrates the diversity of southern Champagne, also giving voice to one of the region’s most fascinating Cépages Oubliés.

This edition, born from a réserve perpétuelle holding the 2020, 2021 and 2022 harvests, is a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc (Cépage Oublié) grapes in equal parts, sourced from vineyards in the two valleys. Vinification and fermentation take place in fût de chêne, a choice that enriches the texture and gives the wine a broader, deeper structure. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for at least 18 months, which helps develop elegance and aromatic complexity, while the absence of final dosage, in Brut Nature style, allows the authenticity of the fruit and terroir to be expressed with the utmost purity.

On tasting, Les Deux Vallées shows an intense straw-yellow colour, enlivened by a fine perlage. The nose opens with notes of white-fleshed fruit such as apple and pear, accompanied by delicate hints of brioche and fresh herbs that reflect the interplay between Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. On the palate it offers a generous structure and lively freshness, with ripe fruit aromas and a subtle minerality leading to a long, harmonious and persistent finish.
