The Champagne La Vigne à Vovonne by A. Lamblot is born from the lieu-dit Le Clos in Vrigny, on the heights of the Montagne de Reims, where vines planted in 1984 are rooted in Ypresian soils of sand, sandstone and calcareous clay that imprint unique tension and identity on this cuvée. A Blanc de Noirs from Pinot Noir grapes, expression of a deeply artisanal approach and a terroir that admits no compromise.

This edition is vinified in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, with no malolactic fermentation sought, to preserve the freshness and verticality of the fruit. After tirage, the wine spends over two years on its own yeasts, followed by manual remuage on pupitre and dégorgement à la volée during a waxing moon. The absence of final dosage – Brut Nature – confirms a pure and essential stylistic choice, aimed at restoring the authentic voice of the Pinot Noir from Vrigny.

On tasting, La Vigne à Vovonne reveals a pure and essential profile, driven by energy, precision and transparency. Notes of red fruits, citrus zest and mineral touches introduce a tense, saline and vertical palate, with a lively and pulsating texture. Production in a limited run of 444 bottles.

A. Lamblot

Alexandre Lamblot represents the 13th generation of a family of vignerons rooted in Janvry since 1653 and is today one of the most compelling voices of the new artisanal Champagne. After years as a wine merchant in Paris and a formative apprenticeship alongside Jérôme Prévost of La Closerie, a master of Meunier, in 2013 he chose the path of independence and took over 3.8 hectares of family vineyards across Janvry, Gueux, Vrigny and Chenay, in the northernmost reaches of the Petite Montagne de Reims. Here Meunier, the Domaine’s leading grape, finds one of its most striking expressions, giving wines of strong personality, tension and precision.

From the very beginning Alexandre set the Domaine on a clear course, embracing biodynamics, guided by the lunar cycles, and agroforestry, with more than a hundred trees, mostly fruit trees, planted among the vines to break the logic of monoculture and restore balance to the ecosystem. The same sensibility guides the cellar, following the motto «ne rien s’interdire, ne rien s’imposer», forbid nothing and impose nothing, and extends to the smallest details, with locally sourced cork stoppers, recycled paper labels and recyclable cartons. The result is a free and sincere signature, among the most promising in Champagne, well worth discovering and following with growing attention.
