Champagne Nicolas Maillart
Rosé Magnum
The Champagne Rosé by Nicolas Maillart shows the most vinous and radiant side of the Montagne de Reims, where the Grand Cru village of Bouzy is home to some of the finest expressions of Pinot Noir. Made only from Grand Cru classified grapes, it reflects the vision of a family Maison that has interpreted its land with rigour and sensitivity for generations. The exceptional quality of this terroir becomes a Rosé Champagne of unmistakable character, combining depth, freshness and refined delicacy.
This edition, based on the 2020 harvest and enriched with around 30% vin de réserve, shows a prevalence of Pinot Noir grapes at 60%, with a 7% share vinified as red wine, completed by 40% Chardonnay grapes. Careful grape selection and gentle maceration give the delicate colour and aromatic richness typical of Pinot Noir, while Chardonnay adds freshness and mineral drive. Vinification and maturation take place partly in oak barrels, which gives the wine complexity and breadth, and after the tirage the wine rests on its lees for 24 months, which rounds out its richness of flavour.
On tasting, this Rosé shows a soft, bright pink colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose opens with an intense bouquet of red fruits, together with light hints of vanilla that enrich its aromatic profile. On the palate the attack is fresh and lively, supported by a harmonious structure and great finesse that carry the wine towards a balanced and pleasantly persistent finish.
