Coteaux Champenois Chavost

The Coteaux Champenois Rouge by Chavost brings back to light the age-old tradition of Champagne's red wines, rare and precious expressions that directly convey the character of the grapes grown around Chavot-Courcourt, in the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay. Here the vineyards grow on chalky soils that lend tension and finesse to the fruit, and are interpreted with a natural and respectful approach that lets the terroir express itself sincerely and without any forcing.
This edition, from the 2023 harvest, is based mainly on Pinot Noir grapes complemented by 34% Meunier, with vinification and natural fermentation in oak barrels without added sulphites, followed by around 18 months of maturation that brings depth, balance and a finer texture. Bottling took place in May 2025 without any filtration, a choice that preserves the integrity of the material and conveys the most authentic expressiveness of this vintage.
On tasting, the Coteaux Champenois Rouge 2023 reveals a powerful and deep nose, with intense aromas of cherry and blackcurrant in the foreground, accompanied by delicate peppery notes that add complexity to its aromatic profile. On the palate it is structured and rich, enveloping thanks to silky, well-integrated tannins that carry its development with balance towards a very long and vinous finish, still generous with red fruit. Production in a limited run of 862 bottles.
