Héritage Rosé de Meunier
The Champagne Rosé de Meunier by André Heucq authentically celebrates the signature grape variety of the Vallée de la Marne, interpreted by the Domaine within the Héritage collection in a straightforward style of great character. The grapes come from the lieu-dit Bout de la Ville, a parcel located near the village of Cuisles and planted with vines over 50 years old, which yield concentrated fruit and a deep, genuine expression of the terroir.
This Rosé edition, made exclusively from Meunier grapes, is produced using the saignée method, in which a short maceration on the skins extracts colour, aromas and a pleasant vinosity. Vinification and fermentation take place in egg-shaped concrete vats, vessels that encourage a harmonious evolution of the wine and preserve the purity of the fruit. After tirage, the wine rests on the lees for at least 36 months, while the absence of final dosage, in Brut Nature style, lets the full authenticity of this expressive Rosé de Saignée Champagne shine through.
On tasting, Héritage Rosé de Meunier reveals a very expressive, frank and crisp nose, with red fruits joined by notes of peony, liquorice and a vinosity that adds depth. On the palate the attack is broad and opens onto a full, fleshy mouthfeel, then the liveliness of the effervescence and an incisive freshness gradually take over, recalling the most authentic Champenois identity. The texture is at once thick, tight and firm, dense as velvet and sharp as a blade, accompanying a very long aromatic finish that closes on a slightly saline and pleasantly bitter note of liquorice.
