The sense of a community: the Champagne Special Club

There's a very special club in the Champagne region. An absolutely unique association, whose main feature lies in the fact that it is composed exclusively of vignerons. But we are not talking about simple workers in the vineyard: we are talking about men and women united by the fundamental trait of being all Récoltant-Manipulant. Proudly vigneron, then. A sign of the purest tradition as owners of a Domaine - handed down from father to son, generation after generation - from which they draw those grapes that they then process in their cellars and market with labels bearing the names of the different families.

It is an extraordinary thread that runs through the vineyards and Grand Cru from Bouzy to Chouilly, passing through Verzy, Aÿ, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and many other villages: a true mosaic of terroirs and nuances of Champagne. This lively multitude of experiences has found its soul, since 1972, in the Club Trésors. A common purpose, which is at the origin of the so-called Champagne Special Club.

Champagne Special Club: the typicality of the terroir

But what is so special about these sparkling wines? Precisely the sense of community that lies behind their elaboration. The Champagne Special Club are the fruit of something that goes beyond the passion for a profession: it is a defence of the quality and typicality of the terroir of belonging.

Monocru or assembly of different parcels, Blanc de Noirs or Blanc de Blancs, Brut or Extra Brut: even in the time of aging on yeasts (from a minimum of 36 to a maximum of 120), each Champagne Special Club is different from the other, because it is the purest expression of the Vigneron and the territory to which it belongs, and calls to a kaleidoscopic journey between sweet and golden slopes.
We start the journey with the lieu-dit in Verzy to whom Mouzon Leroux Champagne Special Club La Blanche Voie 2013 owes its name, an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vinified in fûts de chêne, to arrive at the Vallée de la Marne, which gives power, persistence and finesse to the Cuvée of Gaston Chiquet Champagne Special Club 2011.

Moving to Villers-Marmery, within the best parcels of the Margaine family in the Montagne de Reims, you will discover Blanc de Blancs of Arnaud Margaine Champagne Special Club 2013, while thanks to Paul Bara Champagne Special Club 2014, you can throw yourself headlong in search of every single note that composes and characterizes different expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Grand Cru of Bouzy.

A journey called "Champagne Special Club"

From the renowned vineyards of Chouilly, in Côte des Blancs, comes to life another 100% Chardonnay, an expression of the best of its terroir: the Vazart-Coquart Champagne Special Club 2012. Born on the backbone of the grapes of Cuis, to which the voices of other Premiers and Grands Crus terroir are harmoniously added, a Blanc de Blancs as Pierre Gimonnet Champagne Special Club 2014 is the result.

It is with Moussé Fils Champagne Rosé de Saignée Spécial Club 201 that the journey ends in another lieu-dit: in Cuisles, in the plot called Les Bouts de la Ville where the grapes are harvested for the only Rosé 100% Meunier made by a member of the Club Trésors.
