Chemin des Rois Magnum
The Champagne Chemin des Rois by Vincent Cuillier originates in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, northwest of Reims, an area still relatively unexplored yet capable of wines with strong identity. Vincent Cuillier interprets this territory through a rigorous, artisanal vision rooted in natural viticulture, the absence of synthetic chemicals, close attention to soil vitality, and the pursuit of a transparent expression of terroir. Chemin des Rois takes its name from an ancient historical route and stands as a deeply territorial cuvée, conceived to convey balance, tension, and authenticity.
This edition, 2018 harvest, is crafted from a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, sourced from selected parcels characterized by sandy and calcareous soils. Vinification involves fermentation and maturation in barriques for approximately 10 months, a choice that builds structure and depth without overshadowing varietal expression. After tirage, the wine undergoes an extended lees ageing of over 36 months. With no final dosage, it is released as a Brut Nature, defining a style that is essential, taut, and fully aligned with the producer’s philosophy.
In tasting, Chemin des Rois shows a clear and layered profile, with a fine, regular perlage. On the nose, ripe yellow fruit, hints of sweet spices, mineral notes, and subtle evolutionary nuances linked to oak ageing emerge. On the palate, the structure is well balanced, supported by a vibrant acidity that carries the wine through to a saline, persistent finish, marked by precision and energy.
