Champagne Henriot
Rosé
The Champagne Rosé is one of the most unexpected creations by Maison Henriot, the result of years of experimentation and the search for a singular aromatic profile that combines freshness and minerality with rare elegance. Officially added to the Maison’s collection in the early 1980s, with the seventh generation of the family, this rosé faithfully reflects the house philosophy, which places the art of blending at the centre of every cuvée by bringing together different years and the three main grape varieties of Champagne.
This edition, based on the 2019 harvest, shows a prevalence of Pinot Noir grapes at 57%, alongside 40% Chardonnay and 3% Meunier, selected each year for their distinctive aromatic freshness and mineral character, together with 42% vin de réserve that brings depth and stylistic continuity to the blend. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the clarity of the fruit and the mineral tension. The colour and structure come from 8% to 10% of still red wine from Pinot Noir grapes, made by macerating the skins and pulp and sourced from a parcel in the Grand Cru of Aÿ. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for at least five years, and the final dosage of up to 5 g/l, in the Brut style, completes the balance of this Rosé d’assemblage, enhancing its elegance and mineral character.
On tasting, this Rosé reveals a fresh, elegant, precise and chiselled aromatic profile, in which a fine minerality is delicately punctuated by subtle fruity notes of white currant. On the palate, the chalky dimension already found on the nose continues, carried by an almost powerful freshness that brings drive, balance and character, leading to a clean, saline finish of fine persistence.
