Blanc de Blancs
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs by Maison Henriot is a luminous tribute to Chardonnay, interpreted through the different ages of the estate’s own vineyards and through the art of assemblage that has always distinguished this historic Maison from Reims. The aim is to convey the most complete and multifaceted expression of the grape, bringing together twelve selected crus whose proportions change from year to year, always with the intent of enhancing the finesse, tension and generosity that make Chardonnay one of the great protagonists of Champagne.
This Blanc de Blancs, made from Chardonnay grapes sourced from twelve crus, is based on a share of between 50 and 70% of wines from the current harvest, completed by 30-50% of vin de réserve that also includes the réserve perpétuelle, a precious guardian of the Maison’s stylistic continuity. The richness of the wines selected for the assemblage offers a broad and layered aromatic palette, which finds its balance through a long period in the cellar. After tirage comes ageing on the lees for at least three years, while the final dosage of less than 7 g/l, in Brut style, discreetly accompanies the wine’s natural freshness.
On tasting, it stands out for its great expressive generosity, where exuberance and exotic notes are balanced by elegance and finesse in an aromatic interplay of remarkable complexity, ranging from flambéed pineapple to fresh citrus, from wet chalk to delicate pastry notes. On the palate it reveals a velvety, enveloping texture, supported by a vibrant freshness that brings energy and precision, carrying the wine towards a long, harmonious and highly persistent finish.
