Rosé de Meunier

The Champagne Rosé de Meunier by Denis Salmon originates in the Vallée de la Marne, between Vandières and Verneuil, as an identity-driven expression of Meunier grown in estate-owned vineyards. This Rosé interprets the grape variety with artisanal rigor, enhancing soils and microclimate through a direct and terroir-focused approach. The aim is to present a Rosé of strong personality, where precision and expressive transparency define a style fully consistent with the producer’s vision.

This edition, with 2023 as the base vintage, is completed by 30% from the 2022 vintage and 10% vin rouge from old vines, a component that deepens aromatic intensity and definition. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, without filtration or malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve energy and natural tension. After bottling, the wine ages on its lees for approximately 24 months. The final dosage of 5 g/l places it in the Extra Brut category, highlighting its balance and precision.

On the palate, this Rosé de Meunier shows a clear and multifaceted profile: the nose reveals red berries, rose and peony, with a hint of licorice that enhances its gently vinous character. The attack is full and crisp, supported by a fresh, dynamic texture that provides drive and continuity. The structure is well-calibrated, with linear and coherent persistence, achieving a successful balance between freshness and substance.

Located in the heart of Vallée de la Marne in Vandières with its 4.8 hectares divided into 22 parcels, among which the most important is Chenovières, where the oldest vines on the property are planted since 60 years old, and where Meunier is cultivated; Domaine Denis Salomon respects the traditions combining modernity with traditional methods. The property's brand was created in 1974 by Denis Salomon, and currently, his son Nicolas, who belongs to the fifth generation of the family, has returned after an experience in Bordeaux to take over the management since 2004.

Vandières village is situated on sunny slopes overlooking the Vallée de la Marne and the vineyards enjoy a privileged southern exposure. The estate benefits from a terroir composed essentially of marl and the vines cultivated are divided by variety into Meunier (70%); Chardonnay (13%); Pinot Noir (16%); and a small part divided into Arbane, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.

Nicolas Salomon, winner of the Jeune Talent du Champagne Award, a competition that promotes creative professionals who show important know-how, has been behind major changes in the production approach, such as the decision to move towards integrated viticulture methods. The Domaine currently produces around 34,000 bottles a year and offers a wide range of Champagnes to suit all tastes, always aiming for the highest quality.
