Les Bauves 2014

Champagne "Les Bauves" by Waris-Larmandier is the result of 100% Chardonnay from grapes of the homonymous parcel planted in the 1962, 1986 and 1998 vintages on outcropping chalky sediments, in the Grand Cru village of Cramant. Millésimé 2014, this Blanc de Blancs is fresh, mineral and fleshy; fruity aromas predominate, accompanied by pastry notes. Long and balanced finish. No added dosage (zéro dosage).  Champagne "Les Bauves" tells a lot about the terroir of the Côte des Blancs, where Chardonnay reaches its maximum expression thanks to the chalky character of the soil which favors the balance between the acidity of the fruit, the sugar and the precursors of aromas that reveal themselves in the wine. Limited edition of about 1100 bottles.

Champagne Waris-Larmandier

Waris-Larmandier is a story of a sixth generation family of winemakers from Avize, in the Côte Des Blancs. The Domaine founded in 1989 by Marie-Hélène and Vincent Waris was administered by Marie-Hélène for a long time after the untimely death of her husband. Today the Domaine is managed together with the three children Jean-Philippe, Pierre-Louis and Inès who have brought a breath of modernity to the production and winemaking choices. The 6ha vineyard divided into 34 parcels extends from the best terroirs of the Côte des Blancs to the Aube, passing through Chamery, a Premier cru village in the Montagne de Reims, cultivated with Pinot Noir. The agricultural and cellar techniques are based on the principles of biodynamics, with the aim of moving towards an increasingly sustainable and integrated production in the territory (The Domaine is Ecocert and Demeter certified). Waris-Larmandier Champagnes have rediscovered a distinct and original personality and that identity character reflex also of the extraordinary terroir of the Grand Cru of Avize.
