The origins of Robert Moncuit date back to 1889, when Alex Moncuit acquired the first vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the iconic Grand Cru of the Côte des Blancs. In 1928, his grandson Robert began producing Champagne under his own name, working exclusively with Chardonnay from the Grand Cru terroirs of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. Chalky soils and artisanal precision have since defined the Domaine’s pure and authentic identity.
Today, the estate is led by Pierre Amillet, the fourth generation of the family, who cultivates around ten hectares of vineyards in the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil and Oger according to organic principles. His vision combines respect for the terroir with technical precision, maintaining low yields and meticulous vinifications to preserve purity and tension in a perfect balance of energy and finesse.
Les Chétillons and Les Vozémeiux are the emblematic lieux-dits of the Domaine: the former, with vines over seventy years old rooted in pure chalk, reveals strength and verticality; the latter, planted in 1955, offers a rounder and more velvety elegance. Robert Moncuit Champagnes stand out for their chiseled minerality, depth, and a beauty that evolves gracefully over time.
