Rare Champagne

Maison Piper-Heidsieck, founded in 1785 in Reims by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, has a history rich in prestige and innovation. In 1885, to celebrate the centenary of the presentation of Piper-Heidsieck's first Cuvée de Prestige to Queen Marie-Antoinette, a limited edition series of bottles was produced: the Centenary Vintage. For this occasion, Tsar Alexander III's jeweller, Pierre-Karl Fabergé, imagined a spectacular decoration in enamel. However, the techniques of the time did not allow the project to be realised due to the fragility of the bottles' crystal.

As an alternative, a label faithfully reproducing the original design was created and applied to the bottles of this exclusive edition. The Centenary Vintage is considered the symbol of the identity and excellence of Rare Champagne. Among the Maison's most extraordinary creations, Rare Champagne stands out as the Cuvée de Prestige. However, due to its uniqueness and strong personality, Rare Champagne departs from Piper-Heidsieck's classic style to the extent of an entity in its own right: a true independent brand.

The birth and evolution of Rare Champagne is due to the vision and skill of Régis Camus, one of the world's most acclaimed chef de cave. Under his guidance, only fourteen vintages have been produced over the past forty years, each characterised by a unique personality and extraordinary longevity: 1976, 1979, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013. They add to the special editions of Rare Rosé Millésime: 2007, 2008 and 2014.

The Rare Champagne is immediately recognisable by its iconic bottle, embellished with gold details evoking timeless elegance. This Champagne is a true celebration of the art of winemaking and the Champenoise tradition, a symbol of unparalleled luxury and craftsmanship.
