The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Cuis by Pierre Gimonnet is the signature cuvée through which the Domaine seeks to convey freshness and purity, essential expressions of Chardonnay from the village of Cuis, a Premier Cru in the Côte des Blancs. An identity-driven wine that reflects the crystalline and precise style of the Gimonnet family.
This edition is based on the 2022 harvest (72%), complemented by 28% of Réserve Perpétuelle, started in 2010 and enriched until 2021, which brings complexity and stylistic continuity. Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel to preserve aromatic precision and transparency, followed by aging on the lees for at least two years. The final dosage, below 5 g/l (Brut), enhances tension, energy and sharpness, without masking the authentic voice of the terroir.
On the palate, Blanc de Blancs Cuis reveals a brilliant and refined profile, with notes of fresh citrus, white flowers, green apple and a vibrant mineral imprint. The mouthfeel is sleek, tense and elegant, with a long, saline finish that showcases the balance and purity of Pierre Gimonnet’s craftsmanship.
The Gimonnet family has been cultivating vines in Cuis since 1750 and today owns around 28 hectares in the Côte des Blancs, including extraordinary parcels such as the century-old vineyards of Cramant, planted between 1911 and 1913. About half of the estate’s vineyards have an average age of 40 years, a heritage that ensures consistent quality and expressive depth in every cuvée.
Since 1996, Domaine Pierre Gimonnet has been run by Didier and Olivier Gimonnet, Pierre’s grandsons, who have carried forward their father’s legacy by focusing on the harmony between Grand Cru and Premier Cru, rather than relying exclusively on single parcels. The result is a crystalline style, capable of expressing both balance and complexity through the interplay of different terroirs.
A defining element of the Domaine remains the grapes from Cuis, with their vibrant natural acidity, which imparts freshness and longevity. These are complemented by the broader and creamier Chardonnays from Cramant and Chouilly, completing the structure of the cuvées. Among the flagship labels stands the Special Club Cuvée, born from the collective project launched in 1971, created to celebrate the purity of terroir in Champagne production.
