The Champagne Contraste #1 by Paul Launois is the result of blending 100% Meunier from grapes sourced from vineyards located around Vallée de l'Ardre (Montagne de Reims). This Champagne is obtained from the 2019 vintage with vinification in stainless steel tanks (57%) and fût de chêne (43%).

It is a Blanc de Noirs that ripes on its lees for 24 months; fermentation is spontaneous and malolactic fermentation is carried out naturally. Dosage of 3 g/l - making it an Extra Brut.

The tonic attack of Champagne Contraste gives way to a beautiful bouquet of yellow fruits and flowers, which opens onto a lingering, slightly salty finish. Between freshness, fruitiness and elegance, Contraste expresses all its refinement.

Located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Côte des Blancs Grand Cru village, a couple of passionate winemakers, Julien Launois with his wife Sarah took the family Domaine in 2010, and after a renovation of the property, they do their first harvest in 2015, creating their own Champagne brand in honour of their son Paul Launois.

Among their cuvées, obtained from just 6 hectares of vineyards all planted with Chardonnay, the most surprising experiment concerns the "Single Barrel", a limited edition of ten custom-made Champagnes, vinified in oak barrels produced directly by the "Tonnellerie Artigianale de Champagne" with a different degree of toasting, from the lightest to the strongest. The aim is to create annually unique Champagne, depending on the type of barrel used.

Paul Launois Champagnes, fully express the identity of the chalky and mineral terroir of the prestigious Côte des Blancs. Balance, freshness and the finesse of its aromas are the hallmarks of the classic range, to which exceptional woody and toasted aromas are added for the "Single Barrel" range.
