This extraordinary Champagne Collection Impériale Création N° 1 has been created to mark the 280th anniversary of Moët & Chandon. An edition that pays tribute and represents the pinnacle of the vision of ‘Haute Œnologie’ to one of the most prestigious Maisons de Champagne, founded in 1743 by Claude Moët. It is a ‘Multi Vintage’ Champagne obtained from the blending of seven exceptional vintages, each carefully selected and aged in different environments to enhance their unique characteristics. The complex blending process begins with the 2013 vintage, aged in stainless steel tanks. This was joined by the refined 2012 vintage, the vigorous 2010, the vibrant 2008, the structured 2006, the lively 2000 (aged in oak barrels) and the superb 2004, aged on its lees in the bottle after the second fermentation. It is the first creation of a Collection that will introduce a new Cuvée every two years until the 300th anniversary of the Maison.
The Collection Impériale Création N° 1 has intense and luminous golden hues. On the nose, its aromatic profile, initially discreet, gradually opens up to reveal fascinating tertiary, reductive and mineral notes. Secondary aromas of coconut, vanilla and fruit then emerge, accompanied by hints of white grapes and Mirabelle plum, evoking a combination of candied citrus fruits ripened over time. On the palate, the maturity of this Champagne Brut Nature is fully manifested, offering a rich and serene experience. It envelops the senses with an aromatic sweetness that blends harmoniously with a creamy, delicate effervescence. The Champagne expands on the palate, offering a balance of freshness and bitterness. The finish persists with notes of smoke and liquorice, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness that stimulates the palate.
Moët & Chandon is synonym of luxury and celebrations. The Maison was founden in 1743 and has accompanied the development of the society, strengthening its status as the most beloved Champagne in the world. The Champagne Moët & Chandon turned very soon into one of the protagonists in the exclusive parlours in the 18th century. Madame de Pompadour, favoured by Louis XV and vanguard woman, art, literature and philosophy lover, warmyl welcomed the Champagne Moët & Chandon. She brought this champagne to the attention of the French bourgeoisie, affirming that after sippin it, women can even become more attractive. Here is the point when the Moët & Chandon legend started and crossed all seasons, trends and styles: it has written one the the most important chapter of the history of luxury and prestige. In 1870 the vintage champagne was born from particularly good year of vintage. The label was then showing that date. In order to ensure a healthy and proper environment to future generations, the Maison Moët & Chandon has opted for a sustainable and environmentally-friendly development: in the last four years it has reduced the use of herbicides by 32% and the water waste has decreased by 31%.
