#NoFilter needed for Champagnes Extra Brut and Brut Nature

If Champagne Brut Sans Année is the gateway to the fantastic world of the world’s best-loved sparkling wines, then Champagne Extra Brut and Brut Nature are a photograph requiring no filters. Indeed, they are crystal clear expositions of the character of the territory, as well as a system of values that emerges as the dosage is progressively reduced. As explained the universality of taste and the constancy of a style that asserts itself is revealed through the Brut. Thanks to Champagnes Extra Brut and Brut Nature, on the other hand, one can move “beyond”: a boundary that helps to reveal, down to the smallest detail, the merits and exceptionality of a terroir, of a parcel, of a hidden vocation. What literature teaches us is easy to refer: where Brut indicates a value of less than 12 g/l for residual sugars in the dosage, in Champagnes Extra Brut and Brut Nature, respectively, the standard falls below 6 and breaks the barrier of 3 g/l, starting with a symbol of luxury, which has now become the best-selling Champagne brand in the world.

Extra Brut and Brut Nature: the two "extreme" modes of the Maisons and Vignerons

Moët & Chandon Champagne Extra Brut Grand Vintage 2013 embodies the highest expression of the historic Maison: an absolute protagonist in the most exclusive salons since its birth, it is the demonstration of the know-how and ingenuity of the chef de cave. From the desire to isolate the purest essence of its famous yellow label, Veuve Clicquot Champagne Extra Brut Extra Old was born. In keeping with the unmistakable style of the Maison, made unique by the widow who invented the concept of vintage in 1810, the Pinot Noir predominates in the bottle. For a powerful and silky blend, and versatility turned into bubbles when it comes to pairing, the Maison brings together in a single blend the fruits of 20 different cru through reserve wines from the 1990, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 vintages.

Symphony of taste, concert of sensations: this is the personality of Laurent-Perrier Champagne Brut Nature Ultra Brut. It is the mirror of the most authentic idea of Champagne by the immortal Bernard de Nonancourt - the man behind the launch, in 1980, of this harmonious cuvée. The flagship of the respective Maison is another legendary zero dosage: the Pommery Champagne Brut Nature Cuvée Louise Nature. This label is only created in the best vintages, thanks to a combination of the richness of the fruit from the Grand Cru from Avize and Cramant for the Chardonnay, with that from Aÿ for the Pinot Noir.

In terms of exclusivity, the world of the Vigneron offers no fewer surprises. Only 2,016 bottles of Gaspard Brochet's Champagne Cuvée 333.a have been produced. This is the case where the ingenious creativity and natural sensitivity of a new generation is unleashed, thanks to a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from 3 different vintages and 3 different villages: Ecueil, Sacy and Villers-aux-Nœuds. Unexpected, just like its origins, is the Huré-Frères Champagne Extra Brut Unexpected: 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs from the heart of the Montaigne de Reims, a terroir where Pinot Noir usually takes the stage: the result is the winning bet of a family of Champagne artisans who have been making wine for more than 50 years.

The 1,258 numbered bottles of Jules Brochet Champagne Brut Nature Prémices V17 are a blend of Chardonnay from Taissy, Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru village of Mailly, Meunier from Barzy-sur-Marne, but above all of a refined desire to find the perfect balance between the environment and the expressiveness of each terroir. The Gosset family has been devoted to sparkling wines for just over a century. Champagne Extra Brut La Montre by Paul Gosset is the evidence of know-how handed down from the great-grandfather Gabriel to the contemporary ace Paul, so from father to son and then to the grandson. Dosage 2,5 g/l, a rich and intense Champagne, whose search for connections between land, vineyard and wine, in their purest tradition (ça va sans dire) blend into Champagnes Extra Brut and Brut Nature.
