It's #ChampagneDay!

Did you know that Champagne Day is celebrated every year on the 4th Friday of October?

The anniversary, born on social media in 2009 on the initiative of Chris Oggenfuss, Californian Blogger and Wine Tutor, and shared globally with the hashtag #ChampagneDay, has become an opportunity to celebrate and share the passion for Champagne. The Comité Champagne itself (or Comité interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne, which brings together Vignerons and Champagne Maisons) promotes this day by publishing on the website all the events scheduled in wine bars and restaurants, in Italy and around the world. A way to bring together and involve the entire world community of Champagne lovers.
We too, at GLUGULP!, want to participate at the Champagne Day trying to transmit all our commitment to the enhancement of Champagne and the heritage of the appellation. So, today we want to inspire you with the latest tasting organized with Champagne Society and presented by Thomas Rossi on the event of the Modena Champagne Experience 2022.
Our journey to the continuous discovery of the Vigneron Champagne.

Our journey of continuous discovery of the Champagne of the Vignerons

- Champagne Extra Brut Le Cépage by Adrien Renoir. Champagne Blanc de Noirs 100% Pinot Noir from Verzy vineyards, a 100% Grand Cru village of the Montagne de Reims. Result of the 2019 harvest, it ages at least 24 months. A full-bodied, intense and rich Champagne; nice depth and iodized finish that underlines its territoriality.

- Champagne Extra Brut Absimilis by Pierre Brocard. Thibaud Brocard, the latest generation of the Brocard family, is a young Vigneron from the Côte des Bar on the rise in the Champagne wine scene. His ideas are clear: he prefers wines made from a single grape variety, a single terroir of origin and long stays on the yeasts to obtain intense aromas. His Champagne Absimilis is a Blanc de Blancs 100% Pinot Blanc with characteristic and particular features: maceration of the whole bunch for 17 days in concrete tanks, vinification in steel and aging on its own yeasts for about 3 years. A cuvée with a peculiar opulence and maturity, an exclusive experience, an original parenthesis.juliedufour_binome_champagne_meunier_familledelouvin-1.jpg

- Champagne Extra Brut Meunier Perpétuel 92/17 by Delouvin family. Rich and intense, this wine is one of the rare Champagne Blanc de Noirs from 100% Meunier grapes (50% Meunier 2017 and 50% vin de réserve from the solera method from the 1992-2017 vintages) from the village of Vandieres, in the Vallée de la Marne. Vinification in steel and fût de chêne, aging on its own yeasts for at least 4 years for this intense Champagne focused on the fullness and maturity of the fruit.

- Champagne Brut Nature Binôme R19. Julie Dufour is the sister of Charles Dufour, the eclectic Vigneron of the Aube, known for his interesting stylistic choices and for his authentic Champagnes. Enologist and entrepreneur, Julie too is making her way among the most renowned Vignerons. His Champagne Binôme is an energetic and daring Champagne resulting from the blending of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay harvested from organically grown vineyards around Landreville in the Côte des Bar. Pinot Noir is aged in wood and steel, while the Chardonnay grapes are macerated in glass "Dame Jeanne" for one year.

- Champagne Extra Brut Héroïne 2013 by Domaine La Rogerie. This is the second Vintage Champagne produced by the Petit Boxler family. 100% Chardonnay harvested from the Grand Cru d'Avize in the 2013 vintage, the Champagne remains on its yeasts for over 90 months. It’s an interesting Champagne Blanc de Blancs disgorged in July 2021 for only 6,048 bottles.

- Champagne Brut Nature Triptyque by Timothée Stroebel. Result of the blending of Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from grapes of 3 plots located near Villers-Allerand in the Montagne de Reims and characterized by 3 distinct soils such as sandy, chalky and clayey. Cuvée obtained from 3 harvests (2014, 2016 and 2017) with vinification without any intervention, the wines evolve at their own pace and age in oak barrels. It’s a Champagne where filtration or stabilization are done, produced in a limited edition of only 5,734 bottles. Determined and profound, it stems from Timothée's idea of wanting to fully express the terroir and create a wine with its own identity.
