Champagne market 2022: a positive balance

Excellent news from the Champagne World for the year 2022 that has just ended: the scenario outlined by the numbers represented in the press release of the Comité Champagne of 18 January 2023, describe a dynamic market in perpetual progress, supported by prudent optimism for the new year.
In 2022 the value of the sales reached a new record exceeding 6 billion euros, with 326 million bottles sold, an increase of 1.6% compared to 2021.
Exports also increased by 4.3% for a total of 187.5 million bottles. It should be noted that the share of exports on total sales has improved from the 45% of ten years ago to more than 57% today.

Having definitively archived the black year of 2020, after a positive 2021, 2022 also confirms itself as a successful year for Champagne, also rewarded by the abundant and quality harvest which will help to replenish stocks to satisfy an ever-increasing market demand.
Despite one of the most complex and cautious global geopolitical and economic contexts, the outlook for Champagne in 2023 is positive and confidence in the sector remains high.
