The Champagne Brut Nature Rosé 2018 is the result of the collaboration between Louis Roederer and Philippe Starck, a cuvée of pure essentiality, conceived as a direct response to climate change and as a pioneering vision of contemporary Champagne. Starck’s minimalist design – in shades of terracotta and beige – completes its identity, combining elegance and sobriety in a coherent and innovative narrative.
The 2018 vintage was exceptional: after a rainy winter and a mild spring, summer proved to be hot and dry, with record-breaking temperatures. The grapes, perfectly ripe and healthy, yielded wines with intense fruit, natural balance, and remarkable aromatic precision. A generous vintage, able to unite intensity and freshness.
The blend is based on Pinot Noir – part of which is vinified as red wine – alongside Meunier and Chardonnay, sourced from the Lieu-dit La Rivière near Cumières, cultivated according to biodynamic principles. These same plots also host the so-called cépages oubliés (Arbanne, Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier, and Pinot Gris), underscoring a true laboratory of viticultural and stylistic experimentation. Vinification is partly carried out in oak (31%), while the absence of malolactic fermentation preserves tension and purity. After bottling, the wine matures for at least six years on the leesbefore disgorgement, without any dosage (Brut Nature).
On the palate, the Brut Nature Rosé 2018 impresses with its vibrant freshness and distinct fruit, a genuine reflection of the terroir and of the infusion technique employed. It is a Champagne that is both lithe and seductive, yet structured and full-bodied, offering a brilliant juicy, saline sensation, with luminous persistence and irresistible allure.
Founded in Reims in 1776, the Maison Louis Roederer has remained in the hands of its original family and Louis Roederer's heirs still manage it. The Maison owns over 240 hectares, divided into 400 parcels, classified between 95% and 100% crus, covering almost all grape needs. An attentive care to different soils and a "tailor-made" viticulture allow Louis Roederer excellent ripe grapes. The Maison also respects the biodiversity and is opened to the principles of biodynamic. The vineyards are located in the heart of the three most important territories of the Champagne region: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. Such a diversity is the key for the maison's rich range of products. This is the reason why the maison is labelled Champagne de Proprietaire and looks for the best results possible, in terms of quality.
