Champagne Lointier

Lointier is based in Crézancy, a village located in the western part of the Vallée de la Marne. It is little known but immersed in an area rich in history and winemaking tradition. Its vineyards are located in the villages of Brasles and Gland, where the clay-limestone soils and gentle south-facing slopes offer ideal conditions for growing a Meunier of great expression.

With a production of around 4,000 bottles a year, Lointier is a true Champagne ‘garagist’: its cellar, located beneath the house, reflects an intimate, artisanal approach. Together with his wife Hélène, Jean-Baptiste follows organic and sustainable practices, excluding all chemical treatments. Their passion for nature and beekeeping translates into a tribute to bees, both in the labels of the cuvées and in the production of mixed-flower honey.

Vinification takes place in wooden barrels of various origins, as well as amphorae and vats, with spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention. Without filtration or clarification, the Champagnes by Lointier express purity, energy and authenticity, with crisp fruit and a surprising saline tension. Some cuvées include a portion of ‘tailles’ (second pressing) to add structure and vinosity. Each bottle is a direct mirror of the soil, with no compromise, resulting in Champagnes with an essential and vibrant character.
