Champagne Jean Vesselle
Le Petit Clos Magnum 2001

Le Petit Clos 2011 by Jean Vesselle is a rare example of author’s Champagne, the result of a single harvest from a tiny walled plot of just 0.08 hectares, located in the heart of Bouzy, one of the most prestigious Grand Cru villages of the Montagne de Reims. Here, old vines of over 70 years of Pinot Noir give life to a Blanc de Noirs of extraordinary intensity and refinement, which purely and sincerely reflects the character of its terroir.

The artisanal vinification and the long lees aging, extended for around 12 years, give the wine depthcomplexity, and harmony. The final dosage, under 3 g/l, in Extra Brut style, enhances the technical precision and expressive transparency of the fruit.

Upon tasting, Le Petit Clos 2011 presents a fine golden hue and delicate perlage. The bouquet is rich and multifaceted: aromas of dried fruitscandied citrusbread crust, and subtle smoky hints emerge. On the palate, it is full-bodied and enveloping, supported by a solid structurevibrant freshness, and a long mineral persistence that highlights its exceptional quality.

Produced in only 805 bottles and 139 magnumsLe Petit Clos 2011 is an authentic and very rare expression— a perfect synthesis of Jean Vesselle’s philosophy and the evocative power of a unique place, enclosed within ancient walls and masterfully transformed into Champagne.

Nowadays she owns 15 hectares of Pinot Noir and a small percentage of Chardonnay, she uses for some assemblages. The annual production is around 120,000 bottles, both respecting the environment and the tradition. Decisive champagnes, vinuous and fruity, embodying the distinctive traits of the terroir: strength, fineness and elegance.
