Bastien Leclerc

The Champagne Bastien Leclerc takes shape with the Domaine du Clos Rougeot starting from the 2021 harvest, in the place where Bastien lives and develops a deeply personal project. The name of the Domaine comes from the lieu-dit “Clos Rougeot”, where his home and the micro-cuverie he built in Vert-Toulon are located, a concrete symbol of his production vision. Raised in the agricultural and winegrowing world, he has gained solid experience working with numerous producers, now managing a vineyard service company active across around 230 hectares and supporting more than 250 vignerons.

The desire to produce wine began at a young age, but took real form in 2015 with the purchase of his first vineyard after a long search. The choice focused on an old parcel in the lieu-dit Les Cornabeaux, in Congy, within the Coteaux du Petit Morin area, with vines planted in 1969 and carefully tended over time. Vineyard management follows respectful practices, without insecticides or herbicides, with a progressive reduction of chemical inputs and strong attention to the natural balance of soil and vine, while in 2020 the project expanded with the acquisition of a small parcel in Vertus Premier Cru.

From the lieu-dit Les Cornabeaux comes Bastien’s first Champagne, from the 2021 harvest, the result of a rigorous selection of Chardonnay grapes and precise work from pressing to vinification, personally overseen at every stage. Ageing takes place in used oak barrels from reference Domaines such as La Rogerie, Jacques Selosse and Maison Raday, among others, shaping a style focused on balance and purity. The work continues in the estate’s micro-cuverie, where each step is handled directly, defining a coherent artisanal approach deeply rooted in the territory.
