Coteaux Champenois Domaine Vincey
Coteaux 2020
The Coteaux Champenois Blanc by Domaine Vincey comes from the central area of the Côte des Blancs, in the Grand Cru village of Oger, where the family has been cultivating vines for eight generations. A still wine conceived as an authentic portrait of Oger, interpreted with an oenological vision capable of carving out an unmistakable identity.
This edition, from the 2020 harvest, is the result of Chardonnay grapes harvested from old vines near the village of Oger on soils with a clear chalky dominance. Vinification and fermentation take place in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, followed by an ageing of about 24 months still in wood that shapes the texture and expressive depth of the wine. Bottling took place in September 2022 in a limited run of only 950 bottles.
On tasting, Coteaux 2020 reveals a luminous golden hue that introduces a vibrant palate, where the fruity matter intertwines with nuances of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit and spicy hints. The structure is ample and elegant, sustained by a taut acidity that dialogues with the chalky minerality and the roundness brought by the oak ageing, delivering depth without weighing down. The finish is long, saline and slightly spicy, with a persistence that reflects the authentic character of the Oger terroir.
