Rosé Beauregard

The Champagne Rosé Beauregard by Domaine Pierre Gerbais is a Rosé de Saignée made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the same-name lieu-dit, located near the village of Celles-sur-Ource in the Côte des Bar. Being close to Burgundy in terms of both proximity and soil composition, Côte des Bar is a region that favours Pinot Noir. The soils here bring great generosity to the fruit while the north and north-west slopes of Beauregard provide balance and freshness. The making of this rare Champagne Rosé involves the saignée (bloodletting) winemaking technique, in which a portion of the must has been in brief contact with its skins and is racked off before alcoholic fermentation. This method of partially infusing the skins into their must increases the colour, aroma and texture of the Champagne Rosé. Vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by blending with vin de Réserve Perpetuelle and ageing for 36 months on its yeasts before reaching the final dosage of 3 g/l - making it an Extra Brut.
