Rosé 25ème Édition Magnum
In 1976, the story of Krug Rosé began, born from the bold vision of the fifth generation of the Krug family. It was the brothers Rémi and Henri Krug who, on a warm harvest day, gave life to an idea as unexpected as it was daring. Inspired by the nonconformist spirit of founder Joseph Krug, a rosé Champagne thus came into being, one capable of standing out for its finesse, depth, and evocative power. After meticulous tastings, the first blend was presented to the world in 1983. A dream renewed each year in a new Édition, the expression of a unique and unmistakable interpretation of rosé.
This 25ème Édition in Magnum format, crafted from the 2013 harvest, brings together 28 wines from 5 different vintages, from 2008 to 2013, with a 50% contribution of vins de réserve drawn from the Maison's extensive collection. The 2013 harvest offered the Maison's most historic plots the ideal conditions to express themselves at their best. Particularly revealing of their terroirs are the vibrant, finely chiselled Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs, the Sézannais and the Montagne de Reims. The Meuniers of Sainte Gemme, thanks to their later ripening, lend structure to the blend, while the wines from the same vineyard born in the explosive 2012 vintage were selected for their intensity and aromatic expression.
On the palate, Krug Rosé 25ème Édition reveals itself with an incredibly delicate pink colour, a promise of pure elegance. On the nose it unfolds a rich and multifaceted bouquet, weaving together rosehip, cured ham, blackberry and redcurrant, embellished with touches of peony, pepper and pink grapefruit. On the palate it wins you over with delicate notes of honey, citrus and dried fruit, sustained by an ultra-fine perlage that leads to a long, persistent finish. KRUG ID 324043
