Les Vignes de Bisseuil V20
The Champagne Les Vignes de Bisseuil by Egly-Ouriet reveals a lesser-known side of the Ambonnay-based Domaine, drawn from the estate’s own vines around the village of Bisseuil, classified Premier Cru. Here the Maison applies the same rigorous, artisanal vision it reserves for its Grand Cru wines, creating a luminous cuvée. The blend shows a clear prevalence of Chardonnay grapes at 80%, complemented by 10% Pinot Noir grapes and 10% Meunier, bringing together finesse, energy and expressive transparency.
This edition, based on the 2020 harvest, is enriched with a portion of vin de réserve that adds stylistic continuity and breadth. Vinification and fermentation take place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts alone, without additions or outside intervention, to keep the natural expression of the grapes intact. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for more than 48 months, gaining depth and complexity before dégorgement. The final dosage of 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, highlights the transparency of the terroir and the mineral tension that defines its character.
On tasting, Les Vignes de Bisseuil appears bright and precise, with an elegant nose where white flowers mingle with hints of citrus zest and fresh almond. On the palate it is pure and chiselled, driven by a vibrant minerality that supports its tension and carries a long, harmonious progression, perfectly balanced between finesse and energy. The finish, of crystalline elegance, unfolds with refined and consistent persistence.
