The Champagne Bossa Nova by Guillaume Sergent is a Blanc de Noirs crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir and Meunier, sourced from the terroir of Vrigny, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims. The vines, rooted in sandy and clay-limestone soils with western exposure, impart to the fruit mineral richness, saline energy, and a strong sense of place.
This edition, based on the 2023 harvest, was vinified and aged entirely in oak barrels, in line with the vigneron’s artisanal approach. After tirage, the wine matured for at least 15 months on its lees, developing depth and finesse. Disgorgement was carried out with a minimal dosage of 2.5 g/l – Extra Brut, highlighting purity and stylistic precision.
On the palate, Bossa Nova reveals an intense and vibrant profile: the nose opens with ripe red fruits, spicy notes, floral nuances, and a delicate smoky touch. The mouthfeel is broad and finely chiselled, supported by a lively texture and a penetrating minerality, leading to a long, saline, and persistent finish.
Limited production of only 3,444 bottles.
Guillaume Sergent is a young oenologist and geologist who since 2009, after an important experience at the Maison Louis Roederer, hat taken the reins of the family Domaine in Vrigny. It is actually a micro-production - about 4,000 bottles a year - where Guillaume respects the synergies between soil, vine and climate. He believes in a fragile harmony that connects us humans with nature and closely follows the biodiversity of his parcels. His experience and knowledge of his Terroir have taught him to be patient and to interact only when necessary.
