The Champagne Bas-Bauchets 2019 by Gamet is a single-vineyard cuvée that expresses with rare precision the identity of a specific lieu-dit: Bas-Bauchets, located on the rive droite in Damery, in the Vallée de la Marne. Produced in only 1,635 bottles, this millésimé originates from a single vintage and a single grape variety — pure Meunier — interpreted with artisanal sensitivity and a deeply territorial spirit.

Vinification and ageing take place in tonneaux, with fermentation guided by indigenous yeasts selected directly from the vineyard. After undergoing malolactic fermentation, the wine rests for 10 months on fine lees, gaining structure and complexity. This is followed by 3 years of bottle ageing on the lees, which impart elegance and depth. The dosage is kept low at 6 g/l – Extra Brut, allowing the wine to express the varietal richness of Meunier with balance and clarity.

On the nose, Bas-Bauchets 2019 opens with notes of ripe fruit, hazelnut, bread crust, and delicate sweet spices. The palate is broad and creamy, supported by vibrant freshness and a long, chalky, and savory finish. A cuvée with strong personality, showcasing the expressive potential of single-varietal Meunier and the tailored approach of Domaine Gamet.
