DOM PÉRIGNON ROSÉ VINTAGE 2010, SPECIAL EDITION BY TAKASHI MURAKAMI
The protagonist of the Dom Pérignon 2025 Special Edition is Takashi Murakami, invited to create two new and exclusive designs. Born in Tokyo in 1962, Murakami is today among the most influential contemporary Japanese artists, renowned for his vibrant paintings and sculptures, marked by an immediately recognizable style. With his «Superflat» visual language, he merges traditional Japanese art with pop culture and anime aesthetics, giving life to a unique creative universe. Recurring icons such as stylized flowers, mushrooms, and the character Mr. Dob have long populated his works, through which he explores key themes of modernity: consumerism, globalization, and Japan’s postwar experience. It is no coincidence that Murakami was also chosen as the face of the Dom Pérignon campaign «Creation is an eternal journey», launched in May 2025, alongside other leading figures from the international art scene.

Dom Pérignon Rosé is a true tribute to Pinot Noir. Working with Pinot Noir requires great mastery and humility. Dom Pérignon Rosé is a paradox: it combines Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in perfect balance. After more than ten years of maturation, the color of Dom Pérignon Rosé reveals all its tension, suspended between maturity and youth, restraint and expressiveness. Dom Pérignon Rosé fully delivers on the promise of Pinot Noir, making it resonate on a clear, fragile, and vibrant note.
The 2010 vintage marked a turning point compared to the rest of the decade after the first part of the year: the lowest temperatures since 1996, combined with winter frosts and an unusually cool spring, recalled the true latitude of the vineyard. The summer, warm but not excessively so, was defined by scarce rainfall, creating an overall dry season. However, in mid-August the scenario changed dramatically: in just two days, as much rain fell as usually does in two months. This sudden shift, combined with the heat, accelerated ripening, making it fast and generous. Harvest, however, was marked by the arrival of botrytis, which particularly affected Pinot Noir grapes. The result was a crop that, as in 1995, achieved an intense balance between sweetness and acidity. To fully express the potential of the vintage, it was necessary to forgo certain parcels and subject others to meticulous selection, in order to draw out only the best from a year rich in contrasts.
On the palate, Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 opens on the nose with intense, layered aromas, where ripe fruit notes intertwine with spicy touches and subtle floral nuances. The bouquet evokes both depth and tension, elegantly reflecting the contradictions of the vintage. On the palate, it reveals harmony and precision, managing to unite power and finesse: dense yet delicate, expansive yet defined. The precise, velvety tannic structure supports a rich, enveloping substance, while the fresh acidity imparts energy and drive. Everything merges naturally in a perfect interplay of contrasts, recomposed into a surprising and memorable equilibrium.
Dom Pérignon has had a priviledge position in the field of Champagne since it was born in 1936. Its origins are older because Dom Pérignon is part of Moët & Chandon (founded in 1743). While Moët & Chandon is involved in a good quality and large quantity Champagne production, Dom Pérignon focuses on absolute quality. Its long experience over centuries is used to produce a top quality Champagne, we all know well. Dom Pérignon is avibrant tribute to Dom Pierre Pérignon, spiritual father of Champagne. It is a miracle of assemblage and refinance with a misterious harmony, which is always new, the perfect meeting between the two classical variety Dom Pérignon, namely Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Since 1990 Richard Geoffroy has been Chef de Cave and father of the Vintages Dom Pérignon and the one embodying the spirit of Dom Pierre Pérignon. Dom Pérignon only creates Vintage Champagnes, from the best selected grapes from a single year of vintage. It never ends its innovating experience and always offers the best of the vintage. It refuses compromises and does not produce its Vintages when the vintage is not at its best- After a 8-year vinification, the wine reaches a perfect balance, the most beautiful product of the Maison: this is Dom Pérignon Vintage. P2 is Deuxième Plénitude by Dom Pérignon, the result of a 16-year process of elaboration. All assemblage ingredients are well mixed and grant the Vintage a stronger intensity, liveliness and precision: Champagne energy at its best! P3 is Troisième Plénitude by Dom Pérignon, the result of a 25-year process of elaboration. The Champagne gains an even more essential structure, enriched by a slow and deep integration. This is a sublime wine, more complex than ever. The Troisième Plénitude is Dom Pérignon's soul.
