The Champagne Brut Cordon Bleu by Maison De Venoge is a great classic among the Champagne Sans Année produced by the great Maisons. Easily identifiable throughout the world thanks to the blue ribbon (Cordon Bleu), which originally represented the river La Venoge running through the same-name village from which the founder of the Maison came. It later became the emblem of the Order of the Holy Spirit, the most famous chivalric order of the French monarchy: "Noblesse Oblige". The result of an almost equal blend of the three classic grape varieties authorised in the Champagne region (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier) with the addition of 25% vin de réserve, the wine ages on its lees for at least 3 years and has a final dosage of 6.1 g/l - making it a Brut.

The Champagne Brut Cordon Bleu is well balanced, rounded and pleasantly complex. The scents that stand out most are the floral ones that evolve towards bread crust and butter. Excellent as an aperitif but also throughout a meal. It can age for several years.

Champagne De Venoge

Maison De Venoge was founded by Henri-Marc de Venoge with his son Joseph, in 1837 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, in one of the most renowned areas of the Champagne region. In 1838, Henri-Marc De Venoge was at the origin of a true marketing revolution with the creation of the first illustrated label in the history of Champagne, a major innovation to meet the needs of the nobility of the time, who wanted to have not only a great Champagne but also a precious, elegant and unique object at the centre of the table. In 1851 the Cordon Bleu brand was registered - the iconic label with the blue band chosen as the emblem of the Maison to represent the river La Venoge and the Order of Saint-Esprit, the most famous order of knighthood under the French monarchy. In 1858, in honour of the Dutch royal family, the Cuvée Princes was launched, which is still produced today in an elegant bottle representing the decanters used at the time by the European aristocracy to serve Champagne. In 2005, the Cuvée de Prestige "Louis XV" was launched, in honour of the King who did so much for Champagne. On 25 May 1728, King Louis XV issued a decree allowing only Champagne wines to be shipped and sold in bottles, marking the birth of Champagne as we know it today. In 2015, the Maison settled in a prestigious villa - now a UNESCO World Heritage Site - at 33 Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, perfectly reflecting the image of nobility, distinction and refinement associated with De Venoge.
