Alexandre Chaillon

It was 2017 when Alexandre Chaillon, an engineer by training, decided to return to Champagne and take over his mother's vineyards belonging to the Vollereaux family, a well-known name in Champagne.
The Domaine is located in Aÿ, in the Vallée de la Marne, while the vineyards extend into the Coteaux Sud D'Epèrnay, in the villages of Pierry and Brugny – Vandancourt from the chalk, marl and clay terroirs of the Campanien and Yprésien periods. 

Since 2020, Alexandre Chaillon has been President of the Groupe des Jeunes Viticulteurs de Champagne which represents and defends the interests of young winemakers in Champagne, promoting sustainable agriculture and zero herbicides as the main objectives of his mandate. Alexandre immediately started converting his owned vineyard (3ha) to organic in 2020 with the first certified organic grapes. 

The certified organic grape varieties are classified as Chardonnay (59%), Pinot Noir (23%) and Meunier (18%). In the cellar, the vinification, fermentation and aging of the wines takes place in 228 and 300 liter tonneaux and in 4 stoneware eggs. Alexandre Chaillon Champagnes are Gourmand Champagnes, with an important savory and fresh structure. Expressive and exciting Champagnes. Production of only 8,000 bottles.
