Les Freres Mignon

The Les Frères Mignon project was launched in 2019 by Florent and Julien Mignon, two brothers raised among the vineyards of the Côte des Blancs. They come from a family with deep winegrowing roots: their great-grandfather used to vinify his own grapes before the family eventually switched to selling fruit only. After decades, the two brothers revived this tradition with new energy.

In 2015, at just 28 and 24 years old, Florent and Julien decided to take the lead and founded their own estate. With the support of their family, especially their father, they completed the construction of a new winery in Avize in under a year—just in time for the 2016 harvest. Their first official release came in 2019 with the debut cuvées under the name Les Frères Mignon.

The family-owned vineyards, passed down through generations, are planted mostly through massal selection. Today, the estate includes around 90% Chardonnay, grown in the Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages of Avize, Cramant, and Cuis, while the remaining 10% is Pinot Noir from Cumières, in the Vallée de la Marne. Each plot is tended with utmost care.

Their work is rooted in sustainable viticulture, with a respectful, hands-off approach at every step. In the winery, they follow a low-intervention philosophy: spontaneous fermentations, indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration. Their goal is to express the purity of the fruit and the essence of the terroir in a style that is essential, precise, and deeply personal.

 In the winery's philosophy, choices oriented to the minimum intervention possible, with spontaneous fermentation on indigenous yeasts and no practices of filtration or clarification. Everything is done with almost maniacal respect for the raw material.
