Brice

Based since the end of the 17th century, the Brice family has thrived in the village of BouzyGrand Cru of the Montagne de Reims, for 12 generations, represented today by Remi and Jean-René Brice, currently at the head of the Domaine. It was from 1945 with René Brice that the Domain experienced an important development thanks to the replanting of post-phylloxera vineyards and the expansion of the family cellar, which led to the launch of the first Champagne Brice cuvées.
In 1966 Jean-Paul Brice continued the development work of the Domaine, buying new vineyards in the Aube and dedicating himself to the trade of non-owned grapes, thus increasing the production of the company. Today the Domaine produces over 100,000 bottles in a range that goes from Brut Tradition to Champagne Blanc de Blancs and the different expressions of the Grand Cru of Bouzy, which represent unique combinations of grapes and soils. For this reason, the harvest is carried out by location, in order to enhance the expression and the differences of each vineyard parcel.

The Domaine manages 12 hectares of vineyards, of which 8 hectares in Bouzy; the rest are divided into the exclusive territories of AyCramant and Verzeney. The Brice family also owns a 2.50-hectare vineyard (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) in Loches-sur-Ource, in the Aube department. The Brice Domaine is committed to the development of biodiversity and has been awarded the High Environmental Value label (HVE 3)  for the management of its vineyard, and has been in bio conversion since 2020. 

Among the practices adopted, insecticides and pesticides have been eliminated and the vineyard is mainly cultivated with vines coming from the so-called “mass selection” family, a technique of reproduction of the vines that aims to preserve their intra-varietal genetic variability and to obtain grapes of the highest quality, with an average age of the vines of 45 years.
