Champagne Bollinger
PN VZ19

The Champagne PN VZ19 is the exclusive vision of Pinot Noir by Maison Bollinger. The blend of this PN VZ19 edition is the result of the harvest of 100% Pinot Noir mainly from the Cru of Verzenay in association with crus located in Aÿ, Avenay, Louvois, Mutigny e Tauxières, whose base vintage is 2019 with vin de réserve up to 2009

Pinot Noir is one of the pillars of the Bollinger style, which has based its reputation on exalting the characteristics of this grape variety. The PN cuvée (this 2024 edition is the fourth to be released) is the result of numerous studies into the taste of Pinot Noir and its various origins in the Champagne region. It contributes to keeping the tradition of this heritage alive and to affirming Bollinger's legendary style - while demonstrating a remarkable ability to reinvent each year.

This edition features the elegance and crispness of Pinot Noir from Verzenay, bringing to PN VZ19 all the best expressions of Pinot Noir from the terroir: depth, elegance and tension, combined with a saline finish.

The Champagne Bollinger PN VZ19 has a bright, golden yellow colour. This colour symbolises the maturation of the wine and is an enduring characteristic of Bollinger's savoir-faire. On the nose it reveals a note of acidity, with gooseberries. Yellow-fleshed fruits such as quince give off a sweet perfume, while citrus fruits - lemon and bergamot - enrich the bouquet. On the finish, honeyed aromas appear, rounding off into light notes of red fruit. It is delicious on the palate: ,eticulously acidic Mirabelle plum, soft and sweet flavours, and creamy effervescence. Citrus peel complete the high note, with a deliciously glossy bitterness and lovely freshness.

The PN VZ19 by Bollinger is undoubtedly a Champagne to be shared between enthusiasts, to appreciate the multiple expressions of Pinot Noir. This PN VZ19 edition represents a new interpretation. Others will follow, with the aim of continuing to explore Bollinger's multiple terroirs.

Champagne Bollinger

In 1829 Jacques Bollinger, together with Athanase de Villermont, founded in Aÿ the Maison under his name. Thanks to the priviledge position of the vineyards and a deep quality moral, the Bollinger Maison has acquired a solid reputation at international level, thanks to the style and wine quality for its Champagnes. Today the family still runs the Maison Bollinger in order to maintain a high production level. In 1992 the family wrote down its Ethic & Quality Principles, lying down all methods followed by the family to produce Champagne. The vineyards of the Maison Bollinger extend over a surface of 160 hectares within the territory of Grands Crus and Premier Crus champenoise, covering up to 70% of the grape need, witha stable quality over time. The remaining 30% comes from selected grapes from other wine-growers in the Grand and Premier Cru territories as well. The Maison Bollinger only uses wines coming from the first pressing, carefully controlling the following steps. Bollinger style is based on Pinot Noir, especially from Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay. The typical features of these villages grant the wines richness, vinousity and roundness. Grand Crus and Premier Crus are part of the assemblage of Grande Année and for 80% in Special Cuvée, giving Bollinger wines their structure and complexity. The vins de réserve rest in corked Magnum bottles under a light froth, cru by cru, vine by vine, year by year. This unique methos in Champagne allows the Maison Bollinger to store its wines for a long time, also keeping their original freshness and character. The Maison Bollinger owns a real winehouse and this helps in the creation of Special Cuvée, obtained after a careful selection of cru, vine and year.
