"Malo" Chardonnay

The Champagne “Malo” Chardonnay by Aurore Casanova is an exceptional Blanc de Blancs, a true expression of Chardonnay cultivated from old vines in the prestigious Grand Cru of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the Côte des Blancs. The viticulture follows strict biodynamic principles, completely avoiding herbicides and chemical insecticides to fully enhance the terroir and respect the vineyard’s natural balance.

The wine is crafted from a blend of the 2021, 2019, and 2017 harvests and is vinified with great care. The full malolactic fermentation—from which it takes the name “Malo”—gives it extraordinary roundness and depth. After a long aging process on fine lees, the wine rests for 30 months on the lees before disgorgement, a process that enhances its aromatic complexity and depth of flavor. The dosage is kept at a minimum (Extra Brut) to preserve the pure expression of Chardonnay and its terroir.

Upon tasting, Champagne “Malo” stands out for its freshness and creaminess. The bouquet is refined, featuring citrus and floral notes, enriched by nuances of hazelnut, butter, and toasted bread. On the palate, it offers a rich and mineral-driven sip, with a long and elegant persistence that fully reflects the character of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Champagne Aurore Casanova

Aurore Casanova, after a career as a professional dancer on the most acclaimed international stages from Bangkok to San Francisco to the Zurich Opera House, decided to leave dance in 2011 to focus herself, together with Jean Baptiste Robinet, prosthetist for amputees, to running the family properties, whose vineyard plots are located in the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne.

With a total vineyard area of 3.5 hectares, Domaine Casanova is located in Mardeuil in the Vallée de la Marne and it adopts an environmentally friendly philosophy based on the principles of biodynamics, which does not involve the use of herbicides or synthetic insecticides.

Winemaking in the cellar is also low-intervention, which makes Aurore Casanova Champagne an ideal product for those who love naturalness and authenticity. The tasting experience of these Champagne is a real moment of pleasure: fresh and delicate wines, elegant and harmonious, ideal for sharing.
