The Champagne “Les Petites Vignes” Pinot Noir by Aurore Casanova is a Blanc de Noirs of remarkable intensity, crafted from old vines planted in 1968 in the eponymous Lieu-dit, located in the heart of the Grand Cru of Puisieulx, in the Vallée de la Marne. The pure Pinot Noir grapes are grown following the principles of biodynamic agriculture, with no use of herbicides or chemical insecticides, in a context that enhances soil vitality and the precision of the terroir.

The cuvée is the result of a blend of the 2022 harvest and a portion of Réserve Perpétuelle, with spontaneous fermentation initiated by indigenous yeasts and an 11-month ageing in fût de chêne. Bottling occurs without filtration or stabilisation, followed by 24 months of lees ageing, yielding expressive depth that faithfully reflects the natural, artisanal approach of the vigneronne. The final dosage is minimal, within the range of Extra Brut, a choice that accentuates the wine’s tension and clarity.

Produced in only 7,165 bottles, this Blanc de Noirs Champagne captivates with its pure character and multifaceted sensory profile. On the nose and palate, it reveals notes of small red berries, delicate spice nuances, dried herbal tea, and a vibrant chalky trace, in a composition that marries energy, finesse, and depth. An authentic expression, embodying with rare precision the spirit of terroir-driven Pinot Noir.

Champagne Aurore Casanova

Aurore Casanova, after a career as a professional dancer on the most acclaimed international stages from Bangkok to San Francisco to the Zurich Opera House, decided to leave dance in 2011 to focus herself, together with Jean Baptiste Robinet, prosthetist for amputees, to running the family properties, whose vineyard plots are located in the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne.

With a total vineyard area of 3.5 hectares, Domaine Casanova is located in Mardeuil in the Vallée de la Marne and it adopts an environmentally friendly philosophy based on the principles of biodynamics, which does not involve the use of herbicides or synthetic insecticides.
