Alexis Leconte La Terre Mère Champagne is the result of 100% Meunier coming from vineyards in the village of Troissy, in the Vallée de la Marne. The parcels of origin (lieux-dits) are the ones of "La Pièce des Cotéas" with west exposure and "La Pièce des Uselants" with north/north-west exposure and characterized by mixed sand soils, clay and stoneware.

This Blanc de Noirs vinifies and ages in barrique and terracotta amphorae and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The dosage remains within the Brut parameters. Limited edition Champagne.

Champagne Alexis Leconte

In Troissy-Bouquigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, Champagne Alexis Leconte born in 2015 from the ambitious project of Alexis, sixth generation of Champagne Xavier Leconte. The vineyards of Champagne Alexis Leconte consist of small plots distributed in the villages of Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières and Aÿ: Meunier is mainly located in Troissy, while Pinot Noir in Aÿ.

Alexis manages the work in the vineyard with meticulous attention by applying the principles of biodynamic agriculture, including the integration of lunar cycles both in the activities in the vineyard and during vinification in the cellar. The goal is to preserve the soil and obtain healthy grapes to produce quality wines that express the terroir that gather all the richness and complexity of each lieu-dit. For this reason Alexis conducts a parcel vinification.

In the cellar, fermentation is done in fût de chêne and / or in particular terracotta amphorae; spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts are favored and it is limited to the minimum intervention in all subsequent phases. The malolactic fermentation is not performed and the added dosages are minimal if not zero.

Complexity, consistency, depth and harmony are the characteristics of the Champagne Alexis Leconte, which promises to be one of the most promising new realities among the region's vignerons.
